SITA roots actually go back to the USA where John C
Dengler and Helen Dengler created a small company called Students International Travel
Association.
The Company known by its Acronym - SITA, soon became a global entity with its presence in
Europe and Asia. In 1956 our Chairman Mr Inder Sharma, fresh from the training he had
received in New York, set up the first office in India at New Delhi.
As India largest travel agency with turnover of over Rs. 1.5 billion, SITA today is
positioned as the Total Travel Management Company, with services backed by experience,
network and a credibility to match. A staff of over 700 committed and trained travel
personnel offer quick and personalised service at 22 location in India and 7 overseas.
The company realising the needs of the global traveller and also to develop vendor

travel billion of over 17 billion US Dollar SITA's global presence can be felt in over 160

The Inbound Tour activities present a wide menu of programmes from special interest to

Furthering our endeavour to be the Total Travel Management company in India we have been
granted a Full-Fledged Money Changers (FFMC) Licence by the Reserve Bank of India and have
commenced Foreign Exchange operation as a separate Division. Presently Foreign Exchange
Division is existing in all the four metro cities. In Delhi we are located at F-12,
Connaught Place, New Delhi.

FULL FLEDGED MONEY CHANGING ACTIVITIES
This licence granted by the RBI permits us to sell foreign
exchange to travellers, both the leisure (Basic Travel Quota - BTQ) and business
(Liberalised Exchange Rate Management System - LERMS) travel. We can also purchase foreign
currencies and TCs from Tourists, Passengers, Restricted Money Changers (RMC) and
Authorised Dealers (ADs).
We have tied up with American Express Bank to sell their Travellers Cheques. As an FFMC we
provide a comprehensive range of services.
Some of our added activities are :-
* We can also release the Airport Allowance for every trip a passenger takes.
* Reconversion facilities- We can reconvert unspent Indian Currency for tourist at the
timeof their departure.
* Easy surrender of unspent exchange of various currencies/TCs for the Indian traveller.
Your Entitlement
The Foreign Exchange allowances applicable as per the Reserve Bank of India is as
follows:-
1. B.T.Q. (Form)
Upto US $ 3000 per person per calender year.
2. BUSINESS TRAVEL. (Form)
a). Special Category: For Chief Executives i.e. Chairman, Managing Directors,
Executive Directors etc.
b). Upto US $ 500 per day for a maximum limit of 45 days per trip plus an
entertainment allowance of upto US $ 2000
per trip. (Upto US $ 5000 in case of Chief Executives of
Export/Trading/Star Trading
houses).
c). General Category: For all other business travellers.
Upto US $ 350 per day for a maximum limit of 45 days per trip plus an entertainment
allowance of upto US $ 2000 per trip.
3. Airport Allowance :
Upto US $ 50 per person per trip.
